EthosEnergy is seeking an experienced Risk and Reliability Manager for our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) business.
The Risk and Reliability Manager will oversee EthosEnergy’s programs and methods with the goal of exceeding customer reliability/availability expectations through a systematic approach to estimating, controlling, and managing the probability of failure of equipment, systems, and processes. Our aim is to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the health of all reliability processes, set expectations to ensure consistency in reliability execution and to drive continuous improvement. We strive to use appropriate tools and systems to ensure prompt identification and resolution of actual and potential problems and provide a system for corrective action to ensure that such problems are not repeated in any future event.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned as needed:
  • Coordinate with internal and external resources to operate the power plant fleet safely, reliably, and effectively.
  • Own the development, revisions, and implementation of EthosEnergy’s Reliability Management Standards, protocols, processes, and procedures across the O&M fleet.
  • Train and coach team members on our Reliability Management Standards to meet the program’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop risk profile tools such as Single Point of Failure, Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) and the necessary predictive models and algorithms needed to execute these tools.
  • Owner and responsible for tracking, monitoring, and benchmarking the O&M fleet reliability and RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) statistics using third party and internal data and analytics.
  • Meet with customers to present our Reliability Services solutions and work with our sales and commercial teams on selling consulting services.
  • Create and revise EthosEnergy’s Reliability Management Standard’s Audit and Close Gap Protocol and tools.
  • Communicate high probability, high impact, risks internally and externally.
  • Oversee investigation to evaluate and develop corrective actions to address known risk.
  • Oversee content and functionality of EthosEnergy’s plant health software.
  • Oversee integration of EthosEnergy’s Reliability Management Standards with EthosEnergy’s Performance Center.
  • Provide plant technical support as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in quality initiatives, quality improvements, and root cause analysis as needed.
  • Champion the use of EthosEnergy’s case management systems and reporting of equipment health to drive execution of actions originating from reliability studies.

Required Skills / Knowledge

  • A thoroughly demonstrated understanding of power plant and production operations, including a working knowledge of the O&M function.
  • A strong understanding and commitment to Quality Management Systems and programs.
  • A thorough, demonstrated knowledge of energy facility operations, O&M contracts, and management methods are necessary to control and improve the business.
  • Understanding of budgets, bid proposals, contract evaluation, and basic accounting principles, plant economics, and power pool and energy market operations.
  • Analyze and interpret data to make sound professional judgements and recommendations.
  • Ability to manage and motivate teams.
  • Proficient with statistical calculations, Weibull Distributions, and determination of probabilities of equipment life and failure.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies (vibration, infrared, lubrication, ultrasound, ultrasonic, metal and paint analysis, motion amplification, generator flux testing, cable testing, motor testing analysis).
  • Possess knowledge of CMMS Systems and their functional uses.

Experience

  • Fifteen (15) plus years of power plant O&M experience with significant prior facility / plant manager experience, with diverse energy industry and corporate management experience a plus.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or commensurate experience overseeing production facilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Office based
  • Roughly 50% travel required. #LI-Remote
