Solar® Turbines Replacement Parts
EthosEnergy Light Turbines produces a large variety of spare parts for the power generation and oil & gas market.
Our Advanced Parts Manufacture (APM®) Global Network provides quality replacement parts every day to exacting standards that are directly interchangeable with existing engine components and assemblies.
OEM Replacement Parts
We draw on years of operational gas turbine and reverse engineering experience to design and manufacture parts that meet or exceed the OEM equivalent part’s performance. Parts are designed and manufactured in strict accordance with our internal New Product Introduction (NPI) process with focus on the characterization of master parts, the development of advanced designs and manufacturing specifications, and the development of proven manufacturing processes and quality inspection regimes. Highlights of the Advanced Parts Development and Manufacturing process include:
Characterization Of Master Parts
Select sample Master Parts to reflect a true representation of the latest OEM production product
Geometric data gathering of the qualified Master Parts using blue-light and white-light 3D scanning, coordinate measuring machines, 3D CAT scanning and manual measurement techniques
Detailed metallurgical analysis of the qualified Master Parts including elemental and alloy microstructure analysis, mechanical property testing, and coating and surface finish identification
Perform a fit, form and function review of the master part and all mating components
Identify potential component failure modes based on our engineering, overhaul and field service experience
Review applicable patents
Development Of Advanced Designs And Manufacturing Specifications
Create comprehensive 3D models in Geomagic and Siemens NX software packages
Create 2D drawings to define forging, casting, machining and fabrication geometry and tolerances in accordance with ASME Y14.5M Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards
Validate models and drawings back to Master Part geometric data
Perform manufacturability and tolerance studies to mating parts
Identify commercially available materials including superalloys in forged, cast and wrought conditions
Identify a variety of machining techniques that are capable of delivery required tolerances
Generate proprietary component specifications to control non-geometric quality requirements such as heat treatment regime
Identify commercially available manufacturing specifications or create proprietary specifications as required
Create critical to quality inspection criterion that must be completed upon completion of each manufacturing process
Development Of Proven Manufacturing Processes And Quality Inspection Regimes
Trial and validation of forging, casting, machining, coating, assembly and fabrication techniques on development pieces
Manufacture of first articles parts with collaboration between selected vendors and EthosEnergy engineers
Detailed geometric review of first article parts against models and drawings
Detailed review of the non-geometric integrity of the first articles parts including destructive testing of multiple parts as required
Component testing including non-destructive testing and air flow testing
Detailed trial build of first articles parts into assemblies and engines in a controlled workshop environment
Performance test of APM® parts in our test facility
Creation of production handover documentation and critical to quality receipt inspection criterion
