“They Think It’s All Over…”

Aberdeen facilities join forces to represent EthosEnergy in charity football tournament.

A team comprised of players from our Light Turbines and Accessories & Components (A&C) businesses in Aberdeen represented EthosEnergy at the local Garioch Soccer 7s on Sunday August 26, 2018. The team brought together players from different departments across the two sites and even a last minute addition of a player representing Ethos House in the form of Suzanne Simpson’s (Graduate Accountant) husband, Chris, who saved the day after a late drop out.

The team competed on the Sunday afternoon against local Aberdeenshire teams in the charity event raising funds for the sports centre. EthosEnergy made a strong impression on the day by topping the qualifying league with two wins and two draws, earning a place in the knock out stage. Team EthosEnergy narrowly missed out in a place in the final with defeat in the semi-finals against Meld United who had the advantage of youth on their side

This is the team’s second outing after competing previously in the Alford 7s earlier in the summer and is showing strong progression in the hunt for silverware. The next game is the eagerly anticipated derby match between Light Turbines and A&C, where A&C will be looking to settle the scores after a crushing defeat in the first leg back in May.
